Looking for information on mounting a scope on a Ruger P85. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Doug

It's gonna be kinda hard to pull something like that off because of the slide movement. I would think you would have to mount it to the frame in order to reduce the possiblity of breaking the scope off the mount.

Reminds me of a saying about putting something on a bull.

BTW, welcome to the forum!

I have very fond memories of my old P85.

Like was mentioned, it would have to be frame mounted and I can't see any good way of doing that, no way that wouldn't look really dumb and rigged. Honestly, scopes only belong on long barreled revolvers as far as hand guns go...that's my opinion anyway.

Burris makes a dove-tail reflex sight for handguns, and there are under-barrel-picatinny mounts for scopes that are universal. But, being a P85, I don't think you have the front rail.

Just seem like the empty casings would have a tough time getting ejected past that mount, let alone the scope mounted to it.
