Meet the 12-gauge "Diablo" from American Gun Craft. For those who don't want to be bothered with a tax stamp, and think a Mossberg Shockwave isn't short enough.

With six-inch barrels, there isn't a lot of room for your support hand, either. And touching it off while one-handing it Mad Max style looks like it would be . . . sporty.

I'm adding that to my "No Thanks" list.

1/2 oz ball or shot, with 40gr FFG probably wouldn't be too bad. You could always load it lighter - say 30-35gr and would probably kick about like my .44 Colt Navy wheel gun. That's the fun part of BP, fooling around with different loads of pellet and powder. :)

Yeah, but it's a sure bet that some damn fool will stuff in 50 or 60gr bp under a 1oz slug and blow their hand off.

Looks like a good way to break your wrist and eardrums at the same time. It's obviously not concealable, so why the abbreviated grip? With light loads, it should be a very effective snake gun. At point-blank range, a shot to the face would end any one-on-one confrontation.

Don't look for them to make 20,000 of them, but I wouldn't mind having one on my "accounts receivables" desk when dealing with check-bouncers...
I say why not?

The fit of the grip panels looks like it could use some work. There appears to be a gap where they meet in front. Might pinch you pretty good when you touch it off.

Yep should be about the same. A Colt 45 with 38Gr. FFFG and a 250Gr bullet will get your attention :D When I see all the Movie Cowboys shooting their 45s and no muzzle flip/recoil well that is BS. 5 in 1 blanks makes shooting one handed and fanning a 45 look easy WRONG.
1/2OZ. shot equals 219Gr. I have shot my 1847 Walker with 55/60 Gr FFFG no big deal but it was with a LIGHT round ball.
This thing should be no big deal to shoot.IMHO

Loaded hot that thing looks as though it could be a handful.
Until you pulled the trigger, anyway. Then, who knows WHERE it might end up? (My guess: somewhere far to the rear of you.)

Way oversized derringer.

And an over sized pain the the wrist when you shoot it.

Yet another "look what you can build/buy when you have
more money than brains".

Ain't it great that our society will support even insanity?

I wouldn't be concerned if somebody familiar with the intricacies of bp guns had one of these hand cannons, but I wouldn't want to be around some yahoo that has no clue what it's about. You can stuff a LOT of powder in a 6" long 12 gage bore. Can you imagine what would happen if there was a crossfire? Those barrels look a little thin to start with.

With a 6" barrel and a big hole in one end you could probably stuff a bunch of black down the barrel. All that would happen is you would get a bunch of burning powder coming out the end of the barrel. Must be why you can't overload a BP rifle and they needed a LONG barrel to be efficient IMHO :D
