Hi the forum. I am new here and I will be here often. I am a conservative ole hoot and I am on the fence on what finish the scope should should be. I am leaning towards black matte. Does anyone have a picture of a scoped SBH
Bisley hunter with a black scope? I am also in the market for a shoulder holster for hunting that would work with a scope. I would consider a custom rig if the price is right. Thanks for any responses and thanks for having me.

Welcome. I think you will enjoy your new gun. I had an original SBH Hunter. Recoil was no problem. Definitely better than my Redhawks.

On handguns I like both finishes about the same. Dont know why but I dont like silver scopes on rifles. The Uncle Mikes Bandolier works good for an inexpensive holster. There are some nice customs out there depending on what your budget is.

Good luck and enjoy.

Welcome.

I usually have a good picture or 2,,, but fresh out.

I like the black matt look as almost every silver scope looks close but just never gets there. Sights are black matt.

IMO

How about these
This is a .41 Mag,(not a bisley Grip but you get the idea) 2x Leupold Gloss as that is what I had in safe already. The Matte would look good too. Grips are Blackline Maple by BearPaw, gooseman179 here on the forum.

The 2x Leupold is in my opinion the best choice for a scope, More X or variable not really usable at Hunting Revolver ranges. "Simply Rugged" has an excellent scoped Handgun Rig.

Depending on how the trigger is in yours you might look up Triggershims.com also (Lance C. Shively member here). Inexpensive easy tuneup.

I had a Leupold scope just like that on my SBH hunter and later switched it for a Burris matte silver. I found out soon enough that hunting with a scoped gun will put quite a few scratches on a black scope. The Leupold is now on a gun I use for target practice. It looks like a dog chewed on it and it has gone through few thousand rounds of .44 mag, and it still holds zero.

Thanks Pal and everyone else. How is that Burris holding up for you. I got my eye on a 2X black matte and that scope fits my budget. How close is the silver matte finish to the ruger ss?

The Burris is up to some 900 rounds, no shift of zero. The silver finish is not a perfect match to the gun, but I'm not complaining. For field use, I like the 2X.

I do not have any scopes on Rugers, but I do have a few on my Contender barrels. I use the Leupold M8-2X or the old Redfield 2.5X scopes. I have 3 of each and I love them all. They are durable and will last a lifetime.

Check out the Wyoming Combination Holster. Custom made by Von Ringler to your gun/scope combo.

Here's a pic of mine and a link to a bunch more pics along with a write up I did a couple years. I really like it.
