Another interesting petroleum related story during WW2 was The Secret of Sherwood Forest. Several oil drilling rigs were brought to England and manned by drilling crews from the oil fields in America. The ingenuity of what they accomplished is amazing. They drilled around the clock and showed a spirit that endeared the locals to the wild men from America who brought oil up from the haunts of Robin Hood and his band of merry men.
