One proud papa

My 8 year old got her first whitetail, she hunted hard this year but just could not connect until today.

Its was a chip shot at 27 yards with a 16" AR in 5.56, Sig Tango6 4-14×44.

Speer 75gr Gold Dot, Lord have mercy did it make a mess of that deer. She made a perfect quartering heart shot.

The round entered just in front of the left front shoulder, absolutely obliterated its heart, shredded the lungs and exited the ribs on the offside.

I had forgotten to put my ear pro in....dang that was loud.

Deer went about 15ft and piled up. It make a classic high jump with rear leg kick.

Super proud of her and she cannot stop smiling.

Good job Dad. The .223 with Gold Dot ammo is a proven deer killer. I use the 55 grain version in a 10.5" AR 'pistol'.

my oldest granddaughter ( 11 ) had a shot at her first deer, ( using my T/C Contender carbine in 223 with the same Gold Dots ) smaller forked buck , got buck fever so bad she missed and was still shaking 10 minutes after the shot her Dad said .. but it's all part of the learning ,

she hung in there and even helped her older brother (13 ) when he got his first deer later that day , a fair sized Doe , she stayed and helped with the field dressing and later cutting the deer up
