tack one more up on the sr9c owner board!
i picked up my black sr9c yesterday, and took it straight to the range.
i know i should have cleaned it first but i only had 1 hour to spend for the day so i just went straight out and blew through 100 rounds.
i love the way it feels, it is weighted nice, doesnt kick bad at all, and the trigger pull is soooo smooth.
it hides well in my desantis leather holster too.
now the negative, out of 100 rounds i had 3 or 4 jams, didnt feed properly.
i am blaming it on not cleanning it first, as my walther p99 eats up the same ammo without any hiccups what so ever.
i got home tonight and took it down (which is super easy) it was loaded with assembly lube and i also found a few tiny metal shavings, i freaked out and inspected the whole thing. i could not find a single scratch or gouge so im assuming they were from assembly.
hopefully now that it is cleaned i will have better luck with it.
aside from that i love this gun!! it is the perfect size looks amazing and i cant keep my hands off of it! i find myself just taking it apart and generally playing with it just because.

one question, i clean the gun with hoppes 9 solvent and it works great, but what does everyone use to re oil their guns after cleaning it?

On pivot points I use just a touch of whatever oil I have. For the slide and spring I use hoppes dry lube.

honestly not sure which holster it is, but yes it does fit very nice. i bot it all home and threw out the package a few minutes later, never bothered to look at the model. i know that it is made for the sr9-sr9c

went to cabelas today to pick up a can of hoppes dri lube. i read the back and it says in bold not to use it on plastics! good thing i read that first. i ended up grabbing a can of rem oil

Good choice. I use RemOil on mine. But recently I bought some gun grease that I use on the rails and some other friction points. Today a friend came over so I could help him with his 1911, and he was just recommended by our local shop with Frog Lube. Seemed pretty good. I am going to give it a try.

I hope you have no more problems. It is probably from not cleaning it first. I have 450 rounds through mine without any malfunctions at all. It has been 100% perfect. Glad I am not the only one who loves to just hold it and look at it.

thanks bill, i have to find something for the slide.
i am not usually one to carry my gun but it just fits so well and hides easily under even just a t-shirt. went out in the woods the other day to set up a tree stand and i carried it just because i could.
i am going back to the range tomorrow morning to play some more

There is always an excuse of some kind.

got out to the range again with my wife, we put another 100 rounds through the sr9c, 1 light strike and 1 fte. but that is better than 3 ftf's
i think it needs more breaking in still. after shooting that along with my walther p99 and my brothers 9mm glock i have to say i love the sr9c the best!!!

OOooh, guess I'll be cleaning mine tomorrow. I probably should have read it first. Gonna have to get something else to use now. Thanks for the warning 8)
