One Deffrence from the SR40c and the SR9c

I have both guns. A 40c and a 9c, the only noticeable difference in the 2 is the slide stop. I have noticed on the SR40c you can actually use the slide stop as a release also. It works smooth and very easy as a release. I read some where that Ruger changed these to a releasable stop. I don't know if it is true or not but the SR9c is no way you can use it as a slide release.
Just something I noticed.

Mine started out as only a stop as well, but after 500 or so, it got pretty easy. I am now in the habit of just using my thumb to release the slide. I know RTuger says it is just a stop, but I've heard quite a few say the same as bobbyrotten and I.

I think it's not supposed to be used as a slide release because it's a compact and might not have the momentum to fully chamber a round but I have no problems using it as a slide release.

If that is the case then the recoil spring doesn't have the strengh to chamber around after firing, either.

I use the lock as a slide release on my SR40c a lot without difficulty. Never had a failure to go into battery.

same here. it was pretty stiff when it was new, but after putting 300rnds through it the slide has loosened up nicely.
