My city has been torn apart by the rising crime rate. The Attorney General of the US has appeared here, and suggested harsher sentencing for criminals. What happened? The community members quickly rose in protest. What? put folks in jail? No, no, train them, rehabilitate them. Provide more jobs, provide better education. Throw more money (taxpayer money) into more programs.
The mass of folks fail to realize that most crimes are committed by repeat offenders, repeat offenders who should have been locked up in the first place. All too often suspects are described as "having served one year of a ten year sentence" or something equally ridiculous.
One of our biggest problems today is the breakdown of the home. A home where there are both parents present. Women's Lib and the abortionist's stance freed women from their rightful place in the home. And it is a lie that it requires husband and wife both to work to maintain a living. The fact is that it takes both working to maintain their desired standard of living.
Youth need a sound home, with firm parental guidance. A home with strong ethics taught, and proper respect for religious values. A home with responsibility taught and practiced. Forget racial equality, ethnic concerns; instead instill values of right and wrong. Respect for other people's rights and property. Teach self respect. Youth should take pride in their appearance, and be taught to do so.
