If it is a flattop, chances are it shipped with the rubber grips. The walnut grips wouldn't detract from the deal though. A reblue or other changes could affect the price. Does it have the wavey front sight? What style ejector? Cylinder pin? I guess pictures would be the best way to get real value answers.
A 4 digit Flattop is desirable. Especially if it's a lower number. The devil is in the details. ANd a 4 digit would have the hard rubber old style grips. However,, if it has a set of contoured walnuts from that period, they are worth as much as the original grips. Details, details, details,,,!

Yep it's worth it looks like a type one. Looks like S/N starts witha 3 so type one.
Wood grips are worth as much as rubber. Just not how it was shipped
#946x would make it a Type 2 or 2A depending on what style of cylinder base pin is in it.
The type 2's are characterized by the front sight which will have reeding on the top of the front sight blade only, which runs in the opposite direction of the barrel. A Type 1 has matting on the top of the front sight blade and the rear of the front sight base which is squiggly and runs parallel with the barrel.

Thank you everyone for all the comments and info. I am in the process of buying this fine piece.
Oh, in looking at the pictures again, the cyl base pin does not have a collar on it, and it has three grooves. Does that reveal anything additional (type 1, type 2, etc.)? Thanks again!
The base pin should not have a collar. And the 3 rings are correct,,, but there were different types of 3 ringed base pins. You need to find a pic of a proper one to compare with yours.
