I'm looking for a OM Flat top rear sight screw with no luck. I can find the regular frame OM screw.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thinking of one of the regular frame screws and filing it down.

Thank you

sac,, the rear sight screw can be a bit of an issue for certain guns. The "Micro" adjustable rear,, on the early FT's had a "witness mark" and later on it was removed. Finding a non-witness screw will be easier than the marked ones.

Contender, I have been finding that everything else is to long.
Iam going to call tha auction house to see if they have an idea of what happened to it, in the pictures the screw was in the revolver.

Thank you for looking, but that is for the regular frame. It's just a little to long.
Thanks again
Have you measured them? Here is an OM and a FT side by side. The sight on the OM is absolutely no thicker than the FT, the OM just has the protective wings.

Yes, I have an OM 45 made in 72 and took the screw out of it and put it in the FT and it bottoms out on the cylinder. I even took one out of a single six and it was to long.

So... you can always pull the screw from that 45, measure it, and call CFNParts and ask. Just trying to help.

Yes I know you are and I appreciate it. I think I will order a couple from them, the look more like what it is supposed to be then the ones from Numrich arms. If they are to long I will take the cylinder out run the screw down all the way and file it down.
Thank you again I do appreciate it

If you get a screw that's a little bit too long,, I would NOT use the frame as a screw guide to file against.
I have easily drilled & tapped a thin piece of steel to use as a screw holder AND depth control to file against. And I think Brownell's sells a similar plate tool.
You can easily mar the frame of the gun if you try & use it as a guide.

ANOTHER option.
Go to a RC Model store. The kind of store where they sell all kinds of parts for the RC cars, trucks drones etc. They often have VERY tiny washers,, especially nylon ones that can be used as a spacer under the head of the screw. That will shorten the length to prevent it from going all the way into the frame window & hitting the cylinder.

They ask for the serial number to help confirm which model you’re talking about. It saves time, the majority of customers that call Ruger for parts do not have the familiarity with the exact identity of their Rugers, nor have the box it came in like the members of this forum.
Most of the Ruger service people are very helpful, especially when you only want a screw.
If I was home, I’d give you the serial number from one of my Blackhawk flattops. A friend got a serial number from a gun he looked at in a gunshop that had the style grip frame he wanted to order to put on a different model.

I contacted Ruger a few weeks ago about a rear sight for an OM flat top frame, which was not yet in my possession. Was asked if it had been converted, she said she would have to have pictures of it showing the conversion before she could send parts. The serial # is the first thing they ask for.
