Older single six conversion

I have a convertible single six buntline (3 screw) that I'd like to convert to .17 HMR/Mach2. Is there a kit available?

Also...
I might be looking for a Blackhawk in .30 carbine. Was that a good caliber for that gun? I have a Super BH in .44 mag that is a great shooter, but pretty pricey to shoot and reload for.

You'd have to change the barrel and cylinder so it's not a kit. Buy a SS in .17. Way cheaper in the long run.

Went to the Ruger site. They don't offer much info. I'd be interested in a long barrel, convertible (.17HMR/MACH2) that I could scope. Any suggestions or links?

Unfortunately,, the convertable you seek will have to be a custom job. Ruger made very few of the Hunters in 17 convertables,, and they are pricey when found.
The best option would be to purchase a 17 HMR,, and just get a custom cylinder for it. That would be the least expensive option. As for that 3-screw long barrel,, if it's a 9-1/2" one,, it's a desirable piece for OM collectors,, condition being important of course.
As for a 30 Carbine Blackhawk,, they are enjoyed by most who ever get one & shoot them. Reasonable recoil,, and a definate loud noise when fired. The fireball seen when shooting always draws looks & comments for bystanders. I own 3 of them & enjoy them!

Brownell's sells the kit. It's designed for a New Model, however the only real difference is a slight difference on the thread relief portion of the barrel's threads. Nuttin' a decent gunsmith couldn't deal with.

As previously stated, the RSS9 you have is a desirable collectors' item, depending on vintage, condition, etc.

PS .30 carbine? It's a rather odd revolver cartridge. I'd think components for the .44 Super would be easier/cheaper to obtain....
