Is there a good video on how to install the old model parts in a converted old model Single Six, i.e. install the pre-transfer parts back into the revolver to return it to its original configuration.

I have not been able to find a video so far, any help is greatly appreciated. I know it is straightforward but i would rather share a video with a friend than try to explain it and have him not understand, it helps keep the relationship, if you know what I mean!!

Since you can't find a video, look for a PDF of the "Gun Digest Book of Ruger Revolvers" or a schematic for the "Ruger Single-Six Old Model." Print out the parts diagram. Sit down with your friend, the diagram, and the tools, and go through it step-by-step.

I agree with Milcax,, get the book(s) and sit down & go through it. Luckily,, they are NOT hard to take apart or re-assemble.
Not everything is on video.

I ended up making a video of installing the conversion parts and then taking them out again and sent it this morning. It is a basic video but he wanted to SEE it done and not have to read about it, he is older than me and is set in his ways, i get it…hopefully, my video will work for him. Otherwise, a road trip will be in order😁

the more I thought about it, it doesn’t surprise me that there are no videos on YouTube or the web showing how to do this, the liability exposure would be a real problem, I realize.

Well this may be too late to help your friend:

Ruger does have Factory OM disassembly/re-assembly video, it's just disguised:

Ruger doesn't have an OM 3 screw cartridge firing single action video. But click this link for ‘Revolver Tech Tips”:
http://www.ruger.com/videos.html?vid=13 ... at=3769277

and scroll down to “Tech Tips-Old Army Disassembly” and “Tech Tips-Old Army Reassembly” which has the same action as all Old Models.

Thanks for that Hondo. I searched the net for a while for a vid of the process, finally dove in and just did it! Took a bit of time, but finally..................
I had never installed a conversion kit till the other day, converting the rust bucket for its ride to Ruger. After I figured out how the parts work with each other, only problem I had was the cylinder latch would not stay down on half cock. Took it apart and tried again same result. Third time the latch spring launched into orbit, I replaced it with another out of a conversion kit, worked fine! Wrong spring or bad spring,, I will never know.
