Gents - I saw this posted on GB - advertised as a 1980 vintage 10/22 Deluxe Sporter. The swivel studs caught my attention, as I don't recall seeing them on earlier 10/22s, so I wanted to check with those more knowledgeable than I, for a correct answer. I actually like these "rounded head" studs more than the typical Uncle Mikes style. Reality is that I was tied up and couldn't bid on it, before it closed and it sold! I have been casually looking for a 10/22 DSP similar to this, which has the butt plate vs a butt pad, so I think that put's me into pre-1984 model. Thanks for any info - Bill in MA 1980 DSP 1022.jpg

My 1980 10/22 had some like that with swivels that didn't come off. I cut the swivel and drilled though the stud so I could use removable swivels.
Look at the hole and see if it looks like someone drilled through it like I did.

I don't own the rifle to look at it, unfortunately! I know I've see these before, perhaps on an older Winchester or maybe it was on an earlier Ruger.

Like others have posted, it looks like the ring swivel has been removed.

I‘ve noticed the older Sporters have the ring built in the studs, and the Carbines that come with sling mounts have just a bare stud. Sometimes these Carbines will come with a sling and removable swivels packaged like in the bottom pic.

My pre-warning 10-22 Deluxe Sporter has factory installed sling swivels on it as standard...
