Old model PC9 carbine trigger question

I have an original model PC 9 that I would like to improve the trigger on. Way too much take-up for my taste. Pull weight isn’t terrible…and For what it’s designed for, I really wouldn’t want it much lighter.
Are there any trigger swaps or modifications available that anyone knows of out there?

I cannot suggest to anybody what their trigger expectations should be. To each their own, but...

I've owned and shot quite a few PC9's and 4's, and I never found the triggers to be any less mission-acceptable than most of the military equipment I trained on.

If a guy wants to fiddle, and create a "better" trigger, or even hire somebody to do the work, so be it. But remember, there are few-to-no parts available for these carbines. If the trigger work is unsuccessful, or causes malfunctions, there could be few options of turning back.

I won’t say the trigger is “that bad” overall, but after reading about the improvements that Sierra Papa made (and offers for sale) for the Beretta CX4 carbine, I wondered if there might be a source for the Ruger PCs. As I said, my only real issue is with the take up being excessive. That much slack doesn’t exist on any other rifles, pistols, or shotguns I own. (The obvious Exception being DA revolvers).

I think expectations of a 'quality trigger' for a PC9 (or any other PCC) are a bit beyond the original intent of the design. As long as it fires on demand and doesn't unexpectedly, that pretty much fills the blanks.:unsure:

As it is, the rifle is certainly reliable and as accurate as can be expected in a 9mm carbine and I agree it’s not ever going to have a match trigger, but I wouldn’t mind improving it a bit…if it’s reasonable to do.
Probably not going to chase he project too far if no one on here as already plowed that ground. I don’t have the knowledge or machinery to get into custom gunsmithing.

I put together an AR9 with a light(ish) pull trigger. The weight of the heavy bolt slamming forward caused some unexpected discharges by creating a 'bump fire' action. I changed that immediately.

I love my PC9. It shoots way better than I do. I put a Romeo 5 on it and it doesn't matter what ammo I run through it, it is dead on accurate within the limits of 9mm. That said, I too have toyed with what to do with the trigger while not really finding any fault at all with the current one. I suppose I am just accustomed to it and an upgrade would make be giddy. So I will follow this thread as well. These are some I have looked at. There are more.

Problem is, and the confusion continues... We were talking about the old PC9 which was discontinued in 2006, not the new PCC. Yes, parts can be available for the newer PCC but not for the old original PC9 . All these add-ons are for the PCC and will not fit on the PC9. The more we refer to the modern PCC as a PC9, the more folks, including Ruger, will be confused. And believe me, the parts monkeys at Ruger do not know the difference. I needed a repair on a PC9 recently. When I went to Ruger for parts, they argued with me that there no such part on a PC9, as they were looking at a PCC schematic.
