Does anyone know approximately how many brass non-Ruger Old Model gripframes were produced and in what gripframe shape(s) were they produced?

No idea of how many but I know of at least 4 different configurations that I have owned over the last 3-4 years. These were the square backed SBH style, regular blackhawk style, birdshead and thunderer. I know they wre produced by Qualite, BNR, SG, Caravelle and I believe one company out of Florida but I have heard nothing good about the last company nor it's products.

Were these for Old Models, ie. with the hole for the trigger return plunger/spirng??

Yes sir, these were all old model configuration grip frames. Correction, the BNR is for a new model. I forgot I made a brass adaptor for that one so it would work on an old model. I have had the others all mounted on old model guns.

Here's a couple out of my collection:

Amazing. And ivory grips still cost about twice as much as stag grips.

Are you aware of the "Gold" and "Brass" colored XR3 and XR#-RED frames for Old Models. They are Aluminum and some people say they were intended as samples from a supplier who offered to make these for Ruger. I have samples of both frame styles. Brass Frame/Lee

Did not ever see any of those, but would make sense that Bill might have entertained the idea!
Congrats

I have heard of brass plated ones but not the gold. Are your examples fitted to guns or are they loose? Where did you get them? What other Old Model aftermarket parts and accessories are out there?

Here's Ruger's brass "Super Blackhawk" grip frame in the shipping box. A Wide Spur trigger
was furnished with the "package".

Premier Weapons Company made a few "aftermarket" items in the "early days". Here's their "Colt" style loading gate. Ruger's flat loading gate was an "eyesore" to many shooters so Ruger finally "came around" and made a "round" loading gate.

I have one of the BNR brass super blackhawk style grip frames that has the old model adaptor block in it that is for sale. It is $265 shipped and you can use it on on old model or a new model Ruger.
