How about a list of non-prefix 357 convertibles. Not many made and a lot less documented. Updated with info from ALE-8. If anyone has info on the guns not dated please let me know.

Bob Campbell’s List of Ruger .357 Old Models currently has over 3600 entries, of which over 2600 are of the earlier non-hyphenated variety. This massive list has never been posted publicly, but any inquiries of a serial number will gladly be answered, giving the type and barrel length of any listed gun along with any incidental information available including the information given on a “letter” if known. The List is updated whenever an unlisted serial number is submitted via DM or openly here on RugerForum. The listings DO NOT reveal anyone’s name or other personal data and we do not collect such information, ever. For what it’s worth, The List includes information on essentially all the serial numbers given in the thread subject above, convertible models or not. This post is not intended to compete with the above listing, just to make it known that there is a source of info on the entire run of the original three-screw .357 Blackhawks, clear through the hyphenated later ones. It’s a fascinating look at a window in time of what was being shipped from The Factory. In view of the manner in which all this data has been collected we do not claim any one gun to be accurately identified, just that any particular serial number falls into the overall story of these wonderful pieces with whatever info has been revealed over the years it has been collected. We encourage the submission of any inquiries and will respond to these as time permits . . . we have lives away from the site. ;)

Well, it's shared with anyone who has a question about the guns involved. It has not been made public to preclude the likelihood of it being compromised by anyone who cares to, perhaps copying it and/or selling it in printed form . . . this is not unheard of. Bob wasn't interested in making money, just collecting information. I'll not argue the matter here but will gladly respond to DMs. I'm done here. :)

yessir I agree, and I know as I had helped Bob from way back with info garnered at all the various shows many he was not at or been at, but we passed on info for him as it was a "labor of love" and meant to be personal, NOT published and misused in any form , yes I know ,but thats why I appreciate the work that Chad does with the RENE, and his used by and meant for, any and all the "collectors",,,but as for "Bobs list", I, FOR ONE, do care, and I am not , and never have been a 'collector of Blackhawks', but a "seller and a user" as old man Ruger wanted us to be,,,,just MY two cents.......oh yes and in our business, we worked on them and refinished and restored them, LOTS of them.:rolleyes:;)

Bump...
surprised nobody has offered up serial numbers that do not appear on the list.
I know they are rare, but surely somebody has an example here or there.

Good grief ….. there’s no money to be made in printing that list and selling it.

But, when the current custodian(s) pass on it will be lost to ALL Ruger collectors forever.

Thank God Chet15 is so mellow with the RENE subscriptions. You’ll see many here frequently give away for free the info he sells. I don’t recall him ever calling out someone for doing that; even though he would be completely justified.

All the non-hyphenated Bob's List X-guns for which I have ship dates, indicating that we either actually saw a letter or were told -- in good faith here -- that they were lettered. Some appear on Neil's list, some do not. Neil is welcome to any of these he needs.
