What specific features are "oversized" in Power Custom's cylinder latch? i have a stock latch where the assembler was a touch heavy in grinding the small chamfer and as a result the cylinder has too much play. I'd be happy with just a stock latch that does not yet have the chamfer if that's available.
Thanks,
Ed

I would imagine that Powers Custom's OM Cylinder Latch is "thicker" so it fits the "bolt cuts/lock slots" in your OM Ruger's cylinder AND fits a bit tighter in the "slot" in the bottom portion of the cylinder frame.

Some caution is in order here, i.e. the tightening of the fit of the cylinder may cause a misalignment between the cylinder's chambers and the bore of the barrel. That is exactly why a custom gun is linebored.

The standard procedure would be to fit the cylinder to the cylinder frame then fit the cylinder latch to the cylinder's lock slots then finally fit the cylinder latch to the cylinder frame. THEN one can line bore the cylinder prior to cutting the chambers. It's precision work and expensive.

I have used the Power Custom oversize cylinder latch, and it is as Flatgate describes - it does require precise fitting, but instructions are included with the latch. Please note Flatgate's caution on cylinder alignment and if messing with this stuff check or get someone to check alignment with a range rod or similar. The standard cylinder latch is available from Brownells and others such as Midway or Numrich:

Uh, the part from Brownells is for the New Model.

The OP inquired about Old Model parts. Ron Power has 'em.
