Have a chance to pic up a nice one near mint 4 5/8. Been Converted but comes
with original lock works and box. Serial no unknown Ball Park value
will be appreciated Thanks ps

around here those run in the $400-450 range,more with the box ,etc, and yes, should have the "parts" in or out, along with the gun.......seems like the 357 mag and 30 carbines are the 'harder' sells in this area,last "boxed" one we sold 3 weeks ago for $500.........

Thanks the guy wanted quite a bit more than that for it and wasn't as nice as his description.
So I passed on it. Now I seen your post I'm glad I did lol. I thought the 4 5/8 barreled guns
were more desirable. Thank again. ps

All else being equal, the 4-5/8" guns can run a little higher than the 6-1/2" ones.

Also, a large part of the value (in addition to condition) is exactly HOW OLD IS IT?? There are several variations of the OM .357s, and if it's actually a flattop it could get pricey pretty quickly.

Ale is correct. An OM 357 Flattop is worth more than a protected ears version. Then there are the Ross guns,,, the transition guns, etc. Details can make all the difference in the world.

. . . and the place to start is with the serial number. We can tell quite a bit from that alone.
