For those who are experiencing feed issues with any size 1911, look at the feed ramp. Simply opening up, and polishing the feed ramp, will do wonders. If you aren't comfortable with doing this, please take to a competent gunsmith. There's more than just opening and polishing. Things like the 1/32" step must be maintained, etc.
I have an Officer's model 1911 that doesn't like hollow points. It works great with FMJ ball ammo. When I carry it, I put a 230 gr Hydra-Shok in the barrel and a mag full of FMJ. Someday I'll get around to doing a custom job on it. Now that I'm retired, I have time to work on the guns I've been meaning to play with but always got pushed back because of customer guns. At least that what I keep telling myself. LOL!!
