Found this old Remington Rocket .22 Short ammo box today. Thought it was pretty cool. I had not seen one before. It is unopened. Size about 2"x3"

Contender is correct....I bought a counter display box missing only 3 packs.....well 4 by the time I left    Gramps 51 talked me into selling him a pack......I think these are called "CHICKLETS" like the packs of gum.......I like dabbling in the 22 short ammo lately....and you thought the RSS had LOTS of variations    see ya RR.

Those are frangible bullets made from some zinc or zinc-lead mixture. They shot very well back in the day from my Remington 510 single shot and later my Astra "Cub" and Bearcat. When I was a kid, I appreciated the low cost of those little "gum packs" too. I remember killing a big jack rabbit with them in my neighbor's vegetable garden one night. Only took five shots from my Bearcat (in other words, ALL the shots!). But I'm not sure how many of those were HITS.....

Now you just need the matching peters "thunderbolt" blue/yellow counter display! I have one still in the original shipping sleeve.

I think I remember there were 28 ctgs. per box. We liked the "zip strip" opening: just like Lucky Strikes! Pack went in your back pocket neat as neat.

I remember the Remington Rockets also. When I was a kid they were a great buy when all I was making was 25 cents a week for doing "chores".
I to have one unopened box of the Rockets but I don't recall the Thunderbolts. Sure brings back great memories !!!

Today's thunderbolts jam in my Mark 1...piece's of crap....so I put them in my single six.....trying to find some ammo that won't jam in the Mark 1...
