Now This is a Hummer

Sat. the 11th I went to a local car show that was held at a Craft Brewery. It is owned by a former Special Forces Vet and he sponsored the car show in his parking lot. He also gave a free beer to all of the attending Vets. :)
Great little show and an acquaintance of mine showed up with his Hummer. He has several pieces of military equipment including a tank. He is also very supportive of the Vets especially the Viet Nam Vets, since he had two brothers that were in Viet Nam.
The Ma Duce along with the M-60s are semi autos.

I'll drink to that.

He also has a Halftrack with a Quad 50

He also has some nice Vipers and stuff

Craft breweries spring up every where, & I've had a flight or 2, but usually w/4 oz. glasses. Those 10 or 12 oz. look particularly interesting.

Not sure I'd trust myself with one of the Vipers or the blown '40 Ford. I'd have one of those wrapped around a telephone pole within the first couple of blocks, and it'd take the morticians hours to get the smile off my face.

The quad .50 turret on a White M3 halftrack is technically known as an M16 GMC (Gun Motor Carriage). How cool is that? ;)

The M16s found great favor in convoys in Korea. Seems there were few things better at cleaning off a communist hillside ambush. Remember the "Puff the Magic Dragon" AC-47 scene in the JW movie The Green Berets? Yah, it was kinda like that, except all done from the ground. :eek:;):LOL:

Mike Dillon had a Quad 50 that he converted to 30 Cal. I think he talked about it in THE Book. Here is the video of the movie he made shooting the machine guns and their history. He also does a night shoot with the quad 50 and tracers along with mini guns.

A very good video if you like history and shooting

I'm not sure what it is. Even though it looks like a tank, sounds like a tank. and moves like a tank. :) :) I think it is a British self propelled howitzer. Remember I'm an airplane guy, but I do know what a Sherman is;) That is his wife sitting on top

I remember reading in a magazine in the mid to late 1950's-- Argosy or True, I think- that the Army was selling M4 Shermans just to get rid of them and they were selling for $100 a piece, but you had to buy a lot of 9 of them. I had the hundred dollars saved up but surely couldn't swing the $900 nor could I pay for shipping to the desert. Some construction company in town bought one from somewhere and was using it for demolition by just driving it through houses and then cleaning up the mess. They didn't do that for long, though. Too inefficient I'd imagine. That was back in the days when you could buy all sorts of WW2 arms for cheap, including automatic things (+ tax, of course). And Dewats.
But, money was scarce.
