Notre Dame

Sixer, since you asked I have to tell you that my two favorite college teams are Penn State and whomever is playing Notre Dame! They've always been a bunch of sore heads.

Big deal, the real game was never televised. Winamac Warriors against the North White whatevers- final score 49 to 14. Aggressive defense and the offense was the definition of teamwork. While the opposition was playing for the fans the Warriors were playing to win.

Selena, not to worry, I've always been a big fan of the Winamac Warriors. Great game!

Not really my point. If football guys paid even half the attention to the local high school teams as they do college and professional it would make for stronger communities. You can pay 5 or 10 dollars for the seat in the stands at the high school and see just as good if not better game than the 250 you pay for a pro team. With the added benefit you have the chance of actually knowing the people sitting next to you. Granted, what the HS kids lack in polish they more than make up for in enthusiasm.

Who knows, it might even have the trickle down effect of admin knowing with community involvement in one segment of the school they might worry their "zero tolerance" policies may have consequences they don't want.

Notre Dame has a fine sports department that has made a mark in our culture, if only for "win one for the Gipper" but our culture is based on your street, your town and your little high school. That's where your loyalty should be.

My name in Selena and I am a ranter.

Selena, I again completely agree with you. I just watched the first half of the Phila Eagles game and they played like a junior high school 2nd string JV team. I should have gone to watch my local high school team last nigh to see a better played game. You may rant at me to your heart's delight; I can take it. :)

I welcomed Hoke when he came in, anybody but Rodriquez. "RichRod" destroyed almost every single record of my beloved Wolverines. Now years later Hoke has not done anything better. It's no longer the other guys team, this is his baby bought and paid for.
