OK,

I am a factory trained Mini repair / parts replacer. I can break them down and put them back all day long and it is easy. Gas blocks and bolts, no problem.

Now, I own a few No.1's and I have never taken one down for cleaning. I have always done what I could in cleaning without taking it apart until today.

I got a wild hair and decided it was time to give it a try. Watched the YouTube video's that Ruger posted, man they make it seem easy. Could not have done it without the video and repeated viewings of specific sections.

All in all, not that bad but you have got to be paying attention.

I have this No.1V 6mm that I got used and it had some dried grease on the breech block and was generally dirty so I thought I would take it down and clean it up.

Got her done but I did have some moments of stress. I think I will do this only enough times to keep my skills up. Not something I want to do every few days, but I bet it would get simpler each time.

Got it all put back together and did function check and all is in order. The breech block is bright and shinny again. Success! :D

I put a light amount of grease the breech block arm and links.

Any suggestions regarding lubrication and grease on No.1's?
