Need no. 1 help!

I am looking to rebarrel a no. 1 to 7-30 Waters. The only thing in my was is tracking down the hens tooth that is a 30-30 ejector. If any of you have a no. 1 in 30-30 and are willing to contact their customer service to get a replacement I was told they will not give not caliber matching parts out. I am more than willing to cover shipping the part all over gods green earth to get this project underway.

That .30-30 ejector for the Ruger No.1 is indeed a hen's tooth Ruger won't sell caliber specific ones over the phone anymore policy to avoid mismatches, and they're not listed on ShopRuger.com.

Best shot Check Numrich Gun Parts gunpartscorp.com they have used factory original No.1 ejectors in stock Ejector, Used Factory Original Ruger No. 1 Series. eBay has some new used No.1 ejectors too, often grouped by caliber families like .338 7mm.38-55.30-40.300 Win, but watch for .30-30 specifics or ask sellers.

For the 7-30 Waters same rim as .30-30 Win, a good gunsmith can modify a common ejector e.g., from .30-06 270 family by filing the hook to fit tons of rebarrel guys do this, no big deal, one way trip but reversible with welding if needed.

I believe Numrich shows availability of one that fits a .38-55 - seems that should work for the .30-30 based cartridge?

I’ve been through a few re-barrel projects on No 1 rifles and my gunsmith usually modified the original ejector to fit the new cartridge base as noted above. Good luck on your project- the 7-30 Waters will make for a very unique rifle!
