NM Blackhawk pivot-pin

Have an Aug 2017 mfg 6.5" NM Blackhawk in 357 Mag that has mostly seen .38 Spl but a box of 357 as well and today I noticed that the rear sight pivot pin is beginning to walk out...I got it back in and will keep an eye on it but has anyone else had this experience?

Very common for them to walk out to the right due to torque during recoil. I tap then out to the right about 1/8" or so ,and using a pair of pliers,put a slight bend in the pin and tap it back in. They stay put after that.

I put some blue LocTite on mine.

I went to Ace Hardware and bought a 1/16" x 3/4" tension pin and replaced the original in. These are also called split pins.

My recently acquired NIB flat top "perfect packing pistol" has the walking pivot pin too. Per serial number it shipped this year: 2025. I am just posting to point out that "torque" is not the only thing that causes it. I have only dry fired my stainless 5.5" and after seeing posts about the pin walking I looked - yep mine was out to the right about 1/32". I pushed it back in with my fingernail. Then dry fired some more and after perhaps 12 snaps the pin was walking again. No bang, no torque.

I'll try the blue loctite remedy first ... if that fails I'll go for either a slotted or coiled spring pin. I started to buy one at https://www.mcmaster.com/products/pins/pin-type~spring/spring-pins-2~shaft-type~coiled/ but but stopped when I noticed they were selling in bags of 100 for around $10 plus shipping!

Don't bother with the Loctite. Just gently tap the pin sideways a little to create a SMALL bend in it, then tap it back in place. Easy & free fix.
