New Vs. Old Mini 30

I have an older SS mini 30 with a single blade stainless front sight and a new SS one in the box. Haven't had a chance to shoot either yet and my brother wants to buy one on them. I do not need two. Is their a difference in reliability accuracy out of the box? I can't get to the range to test them and I want to give him the better of the two since he will use it more than I will.

Newer one should be 'better' but then there is an easy way to find out.... keep both and see, tell your brother he has to wait a while....

and ammo will make a difference.

DonD, what type of ammo are you shooting to get those 1.5 MOAs?

My mini-30 has a strange character... the first shot is dead on and then after that the rounds are about 3" to the right at 50 yards.... at least that's how I remember it. I haven't shot it in over a year or more. I'm not talking about the barrel heating up and the impacts stringing....

As I remember it, it was the difference between the first hand chambered round and then the auto chambered rounds...
