OK...so when (by sn) did Ruger get rid of their red background medallions in the grip frame of their 22/45 pistols? I'm speaking of the non-wood grip models. Sometime in the 228- prefix as well as the 270- prefix they replaced their regular medallions with the same "Sturmless" R plastic buttons.

Come on guys...there are over 100,000 22/45's out there. Surely somebody can help out on when the medallions were taken out of the side panels on the 22/45? I know it happened after January 2006 as that is when our 270-00023 Hunter with medallions was inspected.

My 22/45, Ser# 228-312xx still had the red background medallions. The pistol was factory test fired on 07/19/2006.

Alright! Now we're getting somewhere. A few more numbers and we should be able to break the change down to a few thousand numbers.
