Sorry, small to moderate brain fog here, but does Ruger still make the large frame Vaquero, or are they all the "small" frame now

Thanks,
Skip.

New model only, I believe Ruger stopped making the large frame Vaquero in 2005.

Several original Vaqueros have been produced since 2005 and fairly recently in fact. They are not regular production however. They are referred to as "Clean-up" guns. In other words, there were left over parts left in inventory, so Ruger cleaned up house. Assembled and completed them, and out the door they went, usually to Davidsons. They are easy to spot because the warning label is on the underneath side of the barrel like all other current guns instead of on the left side as were the original Vaq. barrels.

Production of the large frame "Vaquero" officially ended in 2005 with the advent of the medium frame "New Vaquero". However, small numbers of "Vaqueros" were occasionally completed from left over parts that left the factory long after that. The last factory new "Vaquero" that I bought was in early 2011. You may still find a 'like new' "Vaquero" out there. Keep looking.
