As several of you know, I am slowly liquidating my S & W accumulation (can't say it was a collection=no pattern, really) in favor of Ruger Blackhawks. Yesterday I met with George Tucker to do a trade for an OM 44 Blackhawk Flattop.
Thought that while I was at it, I'd wrap up a few loose threads: A while back I posted my "new" OM 45 Convertible. At that time, I said I was going to re-handle my hunting knife==a Randall Gamemaster (#23). Several members expressed doubts as to my sanity. Well, it is almost completed=a little buffing remains. It was well-used (several elk, more deer, a lot of wild hogs and ground squirrels, cutting kindling, digging out my 4x4, etc.). Both are stocked in water buffalo horn.
I also mentioned that I had received a set of sheep horn scales from Patrick (Grashorn). Several said "where's the pictures?" Here's one at least. These went on my newly acquired OM 41 magnum:
Also, received in trade is a 30 Carbine Old MOdel:
Although I prefer calibers that start with a "4", I did also acquire a couple of OM 357 Rugers: Sorry for the lousy pic. I'll do better next time.
And an OM Super Black Hawk:
Since my New Model Blackhawk is a 1976 "200th Year" model, I am in the middle of a trade that will get me another New Model Super that will go to Gary Reeder later this summer.
This is what started this flurry of trading (swore I was taking the summer off): A 1917-18 Colt 1911, GI-issue:
I traded off my Vaquero/Bisley/Shriff's butt I still have my basic OM Vaquero, 45 Colt:
