Hello Everybody! Im new to the forum but have been reading for a while, and you all helped me pick my first firearm, a nice two tone P345. Im thrilled with her and she shoots like a dream! now Im a designer by trade and one thing has been bothering me. This is my first firearm so im not sure about others but the P345 mag has the holes in the side to check ammo... but the lowest hole is the 7th round in the mag.... Is there a practical reason for this? Why not show the eighth?

Thanks
DC

Welcome to the forum! I'm sure the reason there is only 7 holes is because the original .45 ruger mags only held 7 rounds, and still use the same magazine body, but with a different follower and spring for the 8 rounders. Now the thing I never could figure out is why they put the holes on the sides of the mag instead of the back, like every other modern pistol.

Ahhhh very good call! thanks for the quick response! Yea that would make more sense tho...

Congratulations for your new aquisition. I have never shot a p345 but what I have read and heard, its a great gun !! If I ever get to buy a 45 I think that the p345 will be my choice unless Ruger developes another option. So, enjoy it.

O I will she shoots amazing I just wish rounds were a bit cheaper.... I guess thats what a 22/45 is for tho!
