I picked up my brand new "black slide" SR9C Friday. Over the weekend I cleaned out all the Ruger grease from every nook and cranny, removed the mag disconnect, polished the striker and blocker friction areas and feed ramp to a mirror finish. I gave the slide several light coats of Eezox to give it a nice matte black fingerprint-free finish. Finally, I coated the rails with a liberal amoun of Brian Enos' "Slide Glide".

Today I was off to the range with a wide array of ammo. In short, it ran like a scalded monkey! It fed, fired, and ejected everything perfectly. That included Tulammo, Monarch Brass, RWS Sport, Federal Red Box, and the rubber-tipped Hornady Critical Defense ammo. I firmly believe that if I'd have shoved a peanut butter sandwich in the mag, it would have shot a 2" center mass group!

Oh, and just like nearly everyone has reported, it shot about 2" left and low at 7yds. That's fixed now and it's a dead-on daily carry gun in my SmartCarry deep cover holster.

I know they all look alike, but here's the requisite picture anyway.

congrats i love mine. just need to find time to play with it some more.

I really think the SR9c is as good of a carry option as the venerable G26. impressive.

A little over 1700 rounds through mine of various ammos; Sellier & Bellot, MFS, PPU, WWB, Herters, Hornady Critical Defense and not one problem yet.

Absolutely love my SR9c

Just ordered one from Buds 413. delivered to my FFL, could not find one locally. I reload, for my P95. My current load is a 124 FMJ with 4.0 grs of bullseye works perfectly in the P95, any reloaders here and if so any good recipes....

How did you adjust the sights?

All done via the rear sight.
1) The flat-head screw adjusts elevation with "clicks" up or down. Simple enough done.
2) I needed to move the sight to the right a little to move the POI to the right...
- I loosened the Allen screw with a small Allen wrench,
- Clamped the slide (only) to my wooden workbench.*
- I placed a 1" piece of wooden popsicle stick on the left side of the rear sight, placed a 1/4" brass punch on that, and gave it a nice tap with a hammer.
One tap, not too hard, and it moved the sight just far enough.
- I then re-tightened the Allen screw.

*A padded vice could also be used. Whatever you use to secure the slide, just take care not to mar the surface.

Same here. Mine's a "Bud's Baby", too. Their current price of $398 with free shipping isn't bad.

I usually load the max for Bullseye in my loads. I shoot a Berry's 115gr Plated bullet in front of 5.0 grains of powder. It makes this baby feel like a canon - 1200 fps and a nice bright fireball. It also hits everywhere I put the dots. It's very accurate for how small it is.

Always been a 1911 fan, love the SA, the thumb safety and carrying condition 1 with the 1911.
Picked up a SR9c at a gun show about a month ago. The SR9c felt good in my hand, thumbing the safety off is very similar to the 1911, and although the trigger is a DA, it feels like a SA. (to quote a famous actor, "DUH WINNING!)

FWIW, I think Ruger has a real winner with the SR9 series.
