New SP101 .22 thoughts

Picked up a new SP101 in .22 last week and finally took it out yesterday.
Fired the first cylinder at 15 feet (yes feet, not yards) in single action to test accuracy. Point of impact was about 4 inches low and right (4:00 position) of point of aim. I was a bit stunned. Another cylinder, same results. Proceeded to shoot about 200 rounds (Blazer & American Eagle) through it adjusting both the windage and elevation on the rear sight. The windage is all the way to the left and I'm still slightly right at 10-15 feet (around an inch). Elevation seems to be ok if I put the front sight over the target which is about shoulder height. Shooting at lower or higher targets varies.

I'm assuming a call to Ruger first thing in the AM is in order to setup a return.

Thoughts as to what the issue cold be?

My first inclination would be to check the front sight to see if it is canted (maybe left?). It appears the front sights on these are drift adjustable. If so, and the sight isn't canted, or mounted out of square, or generally not centered, then I would probably drift it to the right a bit to get it shooting where you want.
Maybe try one more brand of ammo.
Also, and don't take this the wrong way, maybe have someone else shoot it to verify your results. Hope this is of some help.

I should've thought of the front sight. No one was around to test but I had been shooting my S&W 686 before that so I knew I was shooting ok

If you need service from Ruger, their customer service is legendary.

The SP101 in .22lr is a ton of fun to shoot and mine is very accurate.

Actually, I am.
I purposely shot only single action at a very close range (15 feet) and even tried from a rest.
I had been shooting a 686 with .357s in the same session with no problems.
I went back a 2nd day with the same issues. The rear sight has been moved as far left as possible. Still about an inch to the right. Much better than where it started which was about 3-4 inches right and low. I seemed to have the elevation correct.
I called Ruger this morning and have it boxed up on its way back to them.
I'll let everyone know what they say/do.

Mine had a canted front sight when I got it. Ruger sent UPS to my door to pick it up and it was back,repaired, in 10 days. No label or anything on my part. Just had to box it and hand it to the driver. I did have to include a letter with appropriate info inside the box of course.

Just an update.
Gun shipped to Ruger on 8/11 and got it back today.
They replaced the rear sight assembly and the pawl (had to look that one up).
In the box was a copy of a picture of a target with 3 shots @ 15 yards from bench (test fire).
Look forward to taking it out this weekend.
