Just took my new Single Six Convertible to the range today. What a fun gun to shoot. Good thing .22LR ammo is so cheap. Gun is heavy for a .22 but not bad. Shot a mix of CCI and Federal bulk pack. Both went bang every time. May have just been me but I thought I could tell the difference in the sound between the two. I'm definitely not going to win any speed loading contests but I managed. Actually didn't seem too much difference between this and my autoloader that I got rid of. Shot about the same amount in the same amount of time. Even put a few rounds of magnum downrange. Rangemaster noted that they were noticeably louder than the regular ones. One note, a round in one chamber in the magnum cylinder didn't want to seat properly at first. That went away after loading it up a few times. I can see this gun being a gateway gun to other SA's, possibly a Blackhawk, possibly in .45 Colt. Then again, maybe not. Yeah right.

Reading this makes me want to take my Single Six to the range. I still haven't shot any rounds through the 22 Mag cylinder.

Like you, this was my first SA, followed thereafter by a 32 Magnum Single Six and a 44 Spl Flat top Blackhawk.

Alan after you have shot about 10,000 rounds loading a RSS gets pretty quick---won't even have to look at the gun or think about what your doing--shot over a 1,000 .22 rounds several times at one sitting-standing--- your fingers might get a little sore but plenty of folks have shot more than that in one sitting I'm sure :) HAPPY SHOOTING 8)

Shooting a SS is more fun than a barrel of monkeys. It is my first SA. And you can't go wrong with a 45 Blackhawk convertable. The ACP is a ton cheaper to shoot. Unless you're also reloading. Then you can go for the 45 Ruger only loads. :D

A great 3 guns to start with.

Picked up a like new 9 1/2in. SS at a local gun show in Oct. and have had it to the range about 6 times. With the adjustible sights am burning up the 10 ring even at the 30 ft. range. Changed out the plastic grips for a pair of nice wood ones I found on Gunbroker. I like shooting Magnums best with the heavier barrel. Just a fun wheel gun to shoot.

Thanks. Not sure I need any other single actions. Smiths, on the other hand...
