Hi. New to the forum. Recently purchased a Hawkeye Alaskan in 375 Ruger and looking to learn. My biggest issue right ow is finding a nice optic for it, primarily for hunting purposes - not long range. Any input is greatly appreciated.
Do you want a scope with crosshairs or is a reddot out of the question?

For crosshair'd scope, I'd go with a Leupold or Burris.

For a reddot and some companies do make longer tubed scopes, take a look at a older Bushnell Trophy 1x24, 4-reticle type. Great clarity, rugged, not over-bearing size for a pistol and of course 4 reticles to choose from. I have one on my Super Wrangler that I took off my Rem 20ga shotgun that was on it for about 8yrs with no problems. There's also Primary Arms which have some great reviews for their optics, and of course there's all the standard RD's that are compact in size or those they call micro. Primary Arms also make RDs that are variable in magnification.
