I have purchased my first Ruger and look forward to participating in the forum. I have a Super Blackhawk 44 Mag. the 50th Anniversary Edition I love the gun and ordered a new personalized set of grips. They came today and the collar on the grip where the screw pin goes through is slightly smaller than the pin. I wondered if anyone had a source for other size pins or a source for the correct collar? Thanks

Ivy1829, let me welcome you to the forum of Ruger enthusiasts, sixgun neophytes and crusty curmudgeons! If the factory grip screw does not fit through the metal inserts on the new grips I would be calling the grip maker and ask them to provide the correct screw. I don't know of anyone who makes grips for Rugers that does not use standard grip inserts that take the factory screws.

Welcome to the forum... may this be the first of many wheelguns to come.

The grip screw should pass through one of the grip panels and screw into the other. Hard to tell what the problem is from your description, but if you could post a picture, it would clear things up.

Thanks for responding guys the answer to one of your points is that the grip manufacturer did not supply the pin it screws into the grip with the collar that is taped so its fine there in looking at it more closely I think the issue is that the gold plating on the collar has reduced the dimension slightly I think I will take it to my local jewler and see if he can clean the inside of the collar I will let you know if it works and post a picture of the installed grips ( I Hope )
