Report on LC9, its all good.Feels good in the hand, combat accurate, put 80 rounds of wwb through it with some hp mixed in no problem, trigger was long but smooth, recoil was easily managed, rapid flre and double tap handled way better than than I thought it would. Liked it way better than I thought I would. If this thing keeps running like this it will soon become my EDC. I'll give the G26 a little rest.. :lol:

Congrats on your new purchase. My LC9 now has about 500 rounds through it without a single miss. I love shooting that little bugger!!
I have been looking at the LC9 also, so it's good to hear your positive report.
Currently I have an SR9C which is great but I feel that the LC9 might be the better CCW. At first glance there doesn't appear to be a great size difference between the two. The trigger on the SR9C is way better than the LC9, but I don't know if that is so important at point blank range. Did any of you consider the SR9C rather than the LC9?

I just got an SR9c from Davidson's last Fri. After holding them in my hands and shooting them in the range several times, I decided to get the SR9c first to replace the Taurus PT145 for cc in the summer time. I might get the LC9 but I liked the SR9c better.

I also have an LC9. I was in the local shop looking at various small pistols for when our upcoming CCW law takes effect in November, and when I held the LC9, I knew I wanted it. I compared it to the SR9 compact but went with the LC9. I used to have an SR9 (one of the first, with the original trigger) that I really liked, but then I sent it in for the trigger modification. Big mistake! The newer, Glock-like trigger was terrible compared to the original. If I had it to do over again, I'd have never sent it in, and I'd probably still have it. But I digress. I've put a couple hundred rounds through my LC9 with no problems at all. Recoil is really not an issue, even with +P ammo. It's really fun to shoot, and very accurate for its size. It will probably alternate duty with my M&P 9c when the time comes...

Anyone had problems with the LC9 being ammo sensitive? I just bought one. I like the way it shot until I started getting light/no strikes. Admittedly, I did my usual buy and go straight to the range, so I was firing a new pistol before it was cleaned. I stopped shooting when I got 7 consecutive failures to fire, with no dents on primers. I've cleaned the pistol and will give it another go.
On rugerforum.net there was a discussion on light strikes with the LC9 and the pistol being sensitive to ammo. Seemed that about the only ammo that it would fire consistently was WWB. I somehow doubt Ruger would build one that wouldn't fire most, if not all, commercial ammo.

I have put wwb, rem. umc and hp through my lc9 without issue. The trigger on mine is smooth if tha makes a difference. I'v shoot the sr9 and sr9c and like the wat they shoot but I have G19 and a slightly modified G26 thats been my carry for the last two yrs. I needed something to fit between that and the lcp. My Glocks are keepers but if needed I would get the sr9c....ymmv.. 8)

Good to hear. I was shooting reloads, but the last 7 had no marks on the primer. My SR9 and M&P are "never fail" shooting those reloads.

I handled LC9 in gunshop this Monday and I think it will find it's way to my armory pretty soon. Too bad this summer is mostly over and I won't have enough time to enjoy carrying it, wearing just tee and shorts, which is why I wanted such small and slim handgun. Next year...

I'm one of those who really have to ponder a new purchase. I really did not care for the width of a g26 I had so I started shoping. Of all I saw, I decided to go for the LC9. Have had it almost two months so round count is low BUT it carries much better than the g26 in the pocket, IWB and in a Ken Null that's been around. Shoots well, double action like a K frame Smith. Points well "for me". It's my daily and a back up for anything else. Wish I had one long ago. BUT the little Smith 37 did it's job then... Great buy for me. Do I miss the G26?? just a little. I'm one of those wh never liked the glock platform. I have to say it was great for what I tried to do EXCEPT for pocket carry. Got away with some pockets though. LC9 is less troublesome there. Not a LCP but I can make it do so I can stay with 9mm.
I bought an LCP didn't like the trigger. I tried the LC9 and didn't like the trigger. I bought an SR9c and loved the trigger. I was going to sell the LCP but played around with it for a while and decided to keep it. So I now have 3 Rugers that I love.

I have about 400 rds through my LC9. No problems at all with light strikes. I did find, at least on mine, Hornady Critical defense was sluggish on the first chambering of a mag. It functioned fine during firing, but you had to make sure you let the slide go as forcefully as possible on charging. If not the polymer tip would hang up on the feed ramp. I decided to use Magtech 115 gr Supreme and it works fine.

I too just purchased a LC9, I just fired 130 rds yesterday, WW and reloads and had 15 rds that the firing pin did not hardly touch, accuracy is good at 15 yds. Need to shoot some different ammo, failure to fire is not good for con-carry.

I'd probably run factory only to do break in and prove. Sounds like hard primers maybe on some.

I had problems last week because it went from the LGS to the range, no stop for cleaning. At least I thought.
This week, I cleaned it. I thought thoroughly. I had intermittent failures with my hand loads with CCI and Winchester primers. Fire 10 and light/no strike the next two. Went from no strike on my handload to 10 consecutive strikes on WWB before failure.
I field stripped the pistol and worked the firing pin. A sliver of metal filing came out. After that I had 30-40 rounds of the mix to fire without incident. The problem, I bet is Ruger's failure to properly clean the firing pin channel. About the only way to solve this is to remove the firing pin and clean. Looks to be a relatively easy task, if you have the right size punches.
My LC9 is not ready for prime time. For a slim semiauto concealed carry, I'll stick with my Taurus 738 for now.

Had no problems with mine except for a bad tulammo primer. I have approx 200 + rounds through it. I'v run it like I had to use it for a 100 rounds, double taps, mag dumps, slow- fast trigger and this gun just runs. I have not run any handloads, I don't reload at this time..I put WWB, Federal,PMC,Tulammo and a few HP through it. I,m lovn it....

I just removed the firing pin. Lots of metal flakes on the pin. Did my best to blow out the channel with Rem Oil (no gun scrubber on hand). Couldn't find a string small enough to pull through the chamber, so I hope blowing both ways cleaned the channel out. Seems to function once I git it back in.
I just bought one today to celebrate Massachusetts Sales Tax Free weekend. I only put four mags of 124 grain hardball through it so far. But they all cycled and went"Bang". So, I have high hopes for this easy carrying little piece. Next up are some Hornady XTP's and Federal Hydrashoks. Mike

Cleaned the LC9, back to the range,fired 90 rds of PMC, and Blazer, no problems then last two mags had 4 no strikes on the primer. Going to take the firing pin out and check for grit ,burrs ect. I like the LC9, accuracy ect, but its not ready as my CCpistol yet, going to stick with the Glock 26 for now or the old 60 S&W.

I just recently got an LC9 and I like it. I have only put 50 rounds through it though but I haven't had any problems with at all. I also own an SR9c which basically has become my carry gun. I have put over 200 rounds through that one with no failures either. I like the fit & feel of the SR9c and it points easily & I like shooting it. When I grap a pistol to practice with it is usually the SR9c.
With that said though I think I can see the LC9 taking some of that time. It has size advantage over the SR9c and for light clothing it fits well. I have only had this gun for a few days but I have carried in my pocket comfortably (don't have a holster yet). I carry the SR9c in a IWB holster and at least for me it is a good carry gun especially under a coat or layers but I find it hard for deep carry. I don't think that will be the case with the LC9. I like the safeties on both gun &use them but prefer the SR9c safety since it is easy with either hand. I own two LCP's & carried both CC. I liked them too but they are small for me. THe LC9 is similar to the LCP but it fits my hand much better.
I can see using either gun easily for CC. Just my humble opinion.
