I just bought a LC380 for my wife and had several FTE. I was using PMC bronze and made sure wife was not limp wristing. My carry is a Glock27 and I know I don't limp wrist. I shot right out of the box and did not clean and lube before shooting. Out of 40 rounds I probably had at least 10 FTE. Not good. I cleaned and lightly lubed and did score on a couple of boxes of Federals and I hope this will solve the problem. Any and all comments will be greatly appreciated.

Give it another chance. Now after cleaning it and another type of ammo your problems may be solved. If not, Ruger customer service is fantastic and will take care of you.

I always clean a new gun first, before taking it to the range. I also like to load the mags to capacity and let them sit for a week or so, as well as the slide locked open for the same period. Then I first use FMJ ammo to test for function, before using my carry ammo.

If none of that helps, call Ruger...they will help.

Keep us posted on this please. My wife is just starting to search for a new carry gun and I have been thinking about the LC380. She is recoil sensitive and does not like my LCP.

Shot a box of the Federals without a hiccup. My 12 yr old grand-daughter shot 4 mags so I feel the problem is solved. This is a sweet sweet pistol. Very easy to rack and minimum recoil. Load it with JHP and it should do the job. Thanks for all your replies. I'm new to the forum and i'm gonna like it.

Interesting issue since my LC9 throws brass a country mile with any ammo I've fed it, even with the stronger Galloway recoil spring. Maybe they oversprung the C380 to accommodate stronger SD ammo? Some have mentioned that they removed the inner recoil spring from their LC9 to make it easier to rack the slide. Maybe you might try that with the LC380 to help slide speed on recoil and thus stronger ejection forces.

I did have a similar problem with my SR9 until I shot, cleaned, and lubed it several times. Now it ejects everything I feed it, and I usually feed it relative soft reloads.

Hope your experience is similar to mine after a few more rounds, as I love shooting both of my Rugers.

Boy, that sounds like a really bad idea.
