New grips for the Vaquero

I picked up these polymer/micarta style scroll grips for next to nothing. They were all off white, so I decided to make an improvement. I painted the whole inner part black and then gently rubbed off the paint on the scroll with some 0000 steel wool. This is the result. Kind of hard to do with one good hand right now, but it came out ok for some bargain basement grips.

Well, you know what they say about, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". If you like the look you did a great job. To me, I would have left them alone and not advertise the fact I like frilly foo foo stuff...just kidding...they look fine.

Polymer, ok but nothing Micarta about those grips. You did do a nice job re working them though.
