Just purchased a new GP100. It is a pleasure to shoot. Experimenting with different hand loads for it. Anyone have a favorite? Wish the GP100 IBOK from iowegin was still available.

I like and use 158 gr cast swc (BHN around 12), over 13.5 grs of 2400, and mag primers. It shoots well in my SP-101/3 inch barrel. Should rock from a GP-100.
Good luck. Like an idiot I sold my GP.
gramps

125 gr. Xtp-hp/19.0 grains W296
140 gr. Sierra jhp/ 13 grains Blue Dot, standard primers (this is above max in Speer 14, below max in Sierra 5 manual)
173 grain Keith swc/10 grains Blue Dot, standard primers. (Lyman 49th, max load).

I had my GPs & Redhawk cyls & cones cleaned up by DougGuy & now they`re better from mild to wild !!
The best part is all my cyls throats are exactly the same , yes EXACTLY ,he has the correct tools to do so .

Before my best loads with my cast was mid loads ,in the 950 to 1150 fps range.

Despite load manuals you can down load 296/H100 , make the call to Hodgdon yourself .
I was told to not go below 80% of available space under the boolit.

I went as low as 13gr. but as expected it was dirty , I wouldn't go no lower than 13.5gr.
This was all done with 160gr or heavier homecast lead boolits of the rnfp & swc style.

I see you`re in Va. , Dougs in Wake Forrest NC.
Ifin ya want his contact info give a holler.

This is a copy of the IBOK for the GP-100. https://gunner777.wordpress.com/2008/08/24/ruger-gp100sp101book-of-knowledge/

For fun shooting I like 13.0gr of Accurate #9 or 9.6gr of Blue Dot behind a copper plated 158gr bullet. Standard primers are fine.

158g XTP with 14 grains of 2400 with standard or mag primers. I haven't noticed any difference over the cronograph. It's my standard load.

I have had good luck with VV N110, if you can find it. I have shot this with bullets from 125 - 158 grains and all shoot well, with low standard deviations over the chronograph. Velocity wise I have good luck with Aliant 300 MP.

I too like 2400. 13.5 grs under a 158 gr. JHP. Makes about 1150 from a 4 " GP100 with very manageable recoil for D/A shooting.

My GP is one of the least finicky firearms I've ever loaded for, as well as one of the most accurate handguns I've ever shot. Since it is so accurate, it wears a scope, and is generally shot from a solid rest. Best groups have been with Hornady XTPs (jacketed), and my 160 grain hand cast bullets (wheelweight and soft lube). My go-to gentle load is a 158-160 grain cast slug over 3.0 grains Titegroup in 38 Special cases. Groups just under an inch at 25 yards from my 6" GP. 125 grain XTPs over 7.2 grains of Titegroup in 357 cases is a nice mid-speed load, and the same bullet sitting on 21 grains of Winchester 296/ H110 is a fire-breather that still plops them close together. The 158 grain XTP with 17.5 grains of Lil'Gun is my fave jacketed loads. I've gotten clover leaf groups at fifty yards with it when I held my tongue right! And I personally prefer the heavier bullets (150 and up) just because with hot loads you won't see as much flame cutting of the topstrap as you do with light-bullet loads.
