Well, I recently was gifted a new item for reloading. Miss Penny bought me a new Dillon bullet feeder for my 650 press.
Now it uses the 3rd station in the toolhead where I normally have a "powder checking die" installed. So I have to remove the powder checker to use it. I was a little hesitant about that,, but I do have an excellent light,, so I can see the powder level in each case.
So,, with it so hot & not wanting to be outside,, I chose yesterday to assemble & install the bullet feeder. It's for my 9mm ammo I use in USPSA competition.
Like all Dillon stuff you get good instructions. But there was a little bit of confusion on a couple of little things for adjusting it correctly. But I was able to figure it out & got it running.

When I was putting the bullets on the powdered cases,, I'd often get a little bit of off center alignment. It wasn't a big deal,, as the bullet seating die would align them. But the bullet feeder actually sets the bullet in place just enough that it's aligned perfectly for the most part. It also sped things up a bit,, as I didn't have to keep getting a handfull of bullets & making sure they were upright to be placed on a case. Just pull the handle, watch the spent primer tube to assure the primer was knocked out, and look in the powdered case to assure it was at the correct level.
Only 225 rounds through it so far,, but I think I'm gonna really enjoy it!
