Nice. The heavy barrel and long sight radius make these very accurate guns. btw, if you prefered the old style grips better, they are available again at rugershop.com. Sometimes they have em, usually they don't. If you want a set, grab these quick.

I am not sure if the detail hardware is included. If not inquire here for what you need. Only a couple dollars worth of locator plug and screw.
A resident poster here, Chigg, makes an extensive line of inserts for these. Just about any kind of wood you can think of at chigsgrips.com VERY reasonable pricing.
He doesn't blow his own horn here, so some of the rest of us do it for him.

Enjoy! I recently bought a 6" stainless and I love it. Haven't shot .357s yet but 38+p has virtually no recoil.
Sounds like a nice one and the GP100 is a great revolver!

I've had my stainless @5yrs. Shot nearly everything in it, heavy mags, light 38s, factory and reloads. I absolutely LOVE this revolver. If I was forced to keep just 1 handgun, it would be my GP. Enjoy!

I've had a 6" blue half-lug .357 since 1989; it was my tree stand "deer rifle" for many years. Now it's a range queen. Just got a stainless 3" fixed sight .357 for carry in the boonies and put Altamont grips on it, which I much prefer to any of the factory Ruger grips, including the old compacts. They are just long enough so all of all of my fingers fit naturally, without any "pinkie hangover"!
GPs are the best overall .357 revolver I've shot, and that includes Smith K, L, and N frames and Colt Pythons. You made a great choice. If it seems too muzzle-heavy for you, send it to Ahlmans in Minnesota and have them make it into a "half-lug." Those few ounces off the front of the barrel make a great difference in the handling and balance for some folks.

I got the 4" SS GP-100 and replaced the grip with Altamont grips also. Everybody tells me, much better looking. I understand Ruger just came out with adjustable rear sight for it. My fixed sight was/is very accurate though. While not my first revolver, I too think if I only had to choose one, this would be it!
