New Factory Bisley 41mag Flaw

Just bought a New in box Ruger "New Model" Blackhawk 5 1/2" brl S.S.Bisley 41mag. Beautiful fit and finish although went to take it apart for cleaning reasons and found that the base pin runs into the ejector rod tab not being able to be removed. Called the dealer who checked the remaining Bisley 5 1/2" brl 41mag inventory and they too are the same.
In order to remove the base pin the ejector rod assembly needs to be removed.

Question being should a guy contact Ruger and return it to be corrected or keep it "as is" from factory.

Thought I'd throw the idea out there with everyone who looks for previous factory flaws.

That's how my 41 mag Bisley is. I"m not sure it is a flaw.

My "New Model" Super Blackhawk Bisley Hunter 7 1/2" 44mag base pin is easily removed unlike this new 5 1/2" Bisley. I realize there is a 2" brl difference between the two Bisleys althought why are the other 5 1/2" Blackhawk brl base pins able to be removed and not the Bisley.Guess I never ran into this before.

I thought most Ruger single actions are like that. I was thinking maybe just Old Model .357's had base pins that would come all the way out.

My 5 1/2" Blackhawk 45 convertible, made in 2011, base pin cannot be removed completely without taking the ERH off. The base pin on my 5 1/2 45 convertible Lipsey's Ruger, made in 2011, can though?

This is what brings on my question;
I have a "New Model" Blackhawk 44spcl that is on the 357 frame, 5 1/2" brl where the base pin is easily removed, and a Lipey's 45LC/45ACP convertable on the 357 frame 5 1/2" brl that the base pin is also easily removed. Why isn't the "New Model" Blackhawk Bisley 5 1/2" base pin removable.

I'm going to guess that it is because the base pin is longer on the NM Blackhawk than on the Flattop frame. If I remember correctly the Hunter model has a longer ejector rod housing that pushes the empties all the way out. Measure the two housings and you will probably have your answer.

The basepins on most NMs Blackhawks can't be removed without taking off the ejector housing. On Single-Sixes, Hunters, and the new flattops, they can.

It's not a flaw, it's part of the design. There is very little reason to ever have to remove the basepin during routine cleaning so it's a non-issue and ensures that you don't lose your pin. The Hunter model has the long ejector, originally on the 10" Supers and Maximum models. That is why the basepin can be removed without removing the ejector on those guns.

The shorter NV Montado is the same way-Can't lose pin, but goes enough to
allow cylinder to be removed without taking off ejector housing. About every
1000 rounds I'll unscrew ejector housing from barrel & clean-No Problem.

Hint: When putting ejector housing back on use a little "red" locktite on screw.
Some will say use blue, but the red is a little stronger and works fine as you
only use a little bit-Screw easily removes for me every time but stays put
when shooting extended periods....
