NEW BISLEY VAQUERO DAY ! ! !

Bought this locally today.
$425 out the door.
looks barely broken in from what my novice eyes can see.

44Mag Bisley... I LOVE the long grip (my hands can actually grab it!)
Love the flat hammer and the trigger is perfect!

I heaven here! Gonna have to go shoot it tonight when it cools off... 107 outside right now...ugh!

That looks great! I have a .44 magnum Bisley Vaquero that originally had a 4-5/8" barrel on it, but I had it swapped out with a 7-1/2" barrel from a standard Vaquero:

I got a stupid question here; I also own a .44 Mag Vaquero, and always thought it was a "new Vaquero"... but when I checked my serial number on the Ruger website, it turned out, that it was pretty old, and the 'New Vaquero' doesn't come in .44 Mag - is that correct?

Or does the thread title refer to 'newly aquired' ?

Yes, you are correct, the new version of the Vaquero only comes in .45LC and .357 magnum. It is built on a smaller frame than the older version of the Vaquero, which came in a variety of calibers, to include the .44 magnum.

A lot of folks are referring to these variants as "Old Model" and "New Model", but most Ruger purist will correct you because in Ruger lore, "Old Model" refers to the three screw single actions and "New Model" refers to the two screw single actions with the transfer bar safety system.

I think eventually we will need to go the Colt method of identifying Ruger singles actions and refer to them as either "1st Generation, 2nd Generation, 3rd Generation and so on!

Yeah sorry for any confusion, its only new to me... The New Vaqueros come in 357 and 45LC not in the 44mag... this one is a 2nd generation Vaquero Bisley if you will.... version 2. ... 2nd edition.... old new.... not new vaquero but old... wait, not old version...... older newer, or newer older version......

Ha ha haha good stuff. It's just new to me.

And I love it.... looking to sell some guitar stuff to buy another one!
