Longer barrel ,SBC4 serial numbers ? Were these made for the Canada market. Saw a blue one yesterday, what are the starting serial numbers, and are all now made with the longer barrel ?

YES, Ruger increased the bbl length to meet "eh? Land" Laws!
I dunno the s/n range but I bet Chad does....

The longer barrel started by at least 93-4400x.
These are .2" (a little over 3/16") longer and are pretty noticeable from the older guns as the barrel noticeably extends past the ejector housing.

My two stainless 'Cats were both bought in March. Serials just over 100 apart, 93-50XXX. They have the longer 4.2" barrel, and the catalog lists that barrel length, so it must be standard now.
Some Canadian law that you can only hunt with a handgun if the barrel is over 4 inches. Okay by me, I like the looks of it better. I did have to wet and shape my leather holsters a bit, to make better room for that .2 inches.
