New Altamont Grips on the old work horse along with it's Hi-Viz front sight. The grips appear to be identical to the old style Ruger GP100 grips (Except for checkering on the backstrap) including the cradle for the main spring compression pin under the insert, and just as hard. I put the Altamont inserts in an old set of grips and they fit perfectly. Really nice checkered Rosewood inserts. They have four different flavors.
The appearance of the rubber is dark gray. Applied a coating of Turtle Wax Formula 2001 Auto rubber treatment. It makes the sick gray come up a nice charcoal black. Works well on composite stocks like my Savage 110.
I take a large glove although I don't consider my hands to be really big. I can see how someone with smaller hands might prefer the Hogue or some other grip to these. Pachmyar Compacs still feel great to me. These grips are about $50. including shipping and inserts.

Those are nice looking grips on a great GP100!
I really want to get one of those one day, and it will probably look just like that!

I just noticed they offer a "slim" grip. I guess the wood inserts are just cut thinner so they are not proud of the rubber. Can't believe they have a slimmer rubber mold. That sounds expensive.
I like the Smith 66 snubbies. Also the model 19s. I'm open minded.
