for those of you that haven't checked out Reuben J. Cogburn (AKA Bill) and his leather work you are missing out. He is a fellow forum member and a good guy to boot. Here is his site. http://www.alaskaleatherworks.com/

This is the new Security Six holster for a 2 3/4", I think it turned out great! I am a true believer in the classic Threeperson (Lawrence 120) design so I asked him to do one for my short barrelled Security Six. This gun is a great trail gun and since I don't carry it concealed much (this could though) this holster is perfect. It also has a crossdraw option which I love. Thanks Bill!!

Not new but this is my favorite hunting rig for the last couple of years... 45 Bisley with cartridge slide ....the grip panels are currently being scrimshawed too which should look great on this gun.

thank you, COR
For the kind words concerning my holsters. I can see in your very nice pics the subtle changes in my holsters, from the first one I built for you til now (from the squared off toe, to the double border safety strap).
I can also see it is not broken in yet....
So many people derive so little satisfaction from their jobs, and I'm so blessed to get so much from building things for all of you.
I have to thank The "venerable" Rob Leahy, of Simply Rugged fame, for getting me started in building holsters, as a career.
I learned much, and had great fun working with Rob, in the shop.
I still work closely with Simply Rugged to this day...
And I'm honestly honored and blessed to build your holsters for you.
If they should ever fail, just return them. They are not just your holsters, but our holsters. they were born here, and I will fix them.
From the first cut to the final finish, I made my holsters by hand, just to order, just for you. And to think that people would actually wear my holsters in the field as opposed to bianchi, or galco, is a special honor.
I hope to always try and improve on my holsters for you. And I hope that you know, that my simple stamp is done by hand, as is with so many small artisans.
When I get your order, it isn't just a nameless invoice, sped on to a line boss. your order comes to me... And I care if it is done right. If I won't carry it.... you won't.. and I have the misblanks to prove it!... :D
I'm a small timer, pure and simple.. but it came from my hands to your hands.... just that simple....

regards y'all... (for my love Duke).....

You and Rob are cut from the same cloth and I am proud to know you and use both of your products. I'm not going to tell any of these fellas how quick your turnaround is because they might get in ahead of me.

That first one you did for me has served me well for the last couple of years. I loved the "makers mark" on the newest version and the subtle design changes.

I may have to switch up some colors for variety...That new flap style holster has me thinking also...we will be in touch. Thanks again

Curt

I have been working with other colors besides oxblood, and dark brown.
I've added a Timber brown, which resembles an oil finish with out the mess, as well as antique (works best on tooled leather and has a smokey orangy cast), and i've been rethinking "black"....
Black dye is a real pain, but people like it. the bad thing about black is that it doesn't always like the leather... and.. it can cross contaminate the shop and mess up your lighter colors...
The world class leather carver "Rick", who carves for Rob, has also offered to tool holsters on request... We are working out a price line now...

Regards....
