Ya'll have seen this old sixgun before, but it got some new grips and I thought it looked good enough for a new pic or two. The gun is a 7.5" flattop i traded into many years ago. Someone had drilled and tapped it for a scope. John Gallagher very skillfully TIG welded the holes, installed a steel XR3-RED size gripframe, and gloss blued it. I've never found a set of grips that fit this frame well (most were undersized, not much you can do about that), until I got these stags recently from a forum member here. They fit beautifully, and are not shy of the frame edge at any point. This is my hunting sixgun if I carry only the sixgun (if carrying a rifle, my sidearm is something with a shorter barrel). It stays loaded with 240 grain 429244 bullets in hollow point form over AA9 for 1200 fps, chronographed. Holster is an old Safariland I like.
