No, I didnt buy it but I had my hands on one yesterday, felt real good, I was afraid it would be too heavy but that was not the case.....may have to get myself one :D Anybody have one yet? hear alot of chatter regarding the Blackhawk but nothing on the GP.

I have the sp101 in 327, may have to get the gp100 also. The sp will make a great carry gun with the federal low recoil hydra shoks which I was able to locate 5 boxes. The American Eagle load would be good for practice with but it is more stout of a load. Not too bad in the sp but I bet it would be nothing in the gp. I think the gp would be a great nightstand gun. I have the American Eagle on order from Cabelas, they say 2 weeks to get it, we will see.

I too have a SP101 in .327, and a GP100 in .357.

I love the .327 rnd, six shots in a SP and 7 in a GP. The 85 gr load seems perfect in the SP, not far off the ME of a full load .357, and the 100 gr Fed is only 50 lb-ft shy. Pretty decent recoil in the SP, but probably fine with the GP (the 100 gr).

Ammo is the problem. Bought 1000 primed cases (also hard to find) so I have been plinking some, and have (6) boxes of the 100 gr on backorder.

Check around for ammo before you get all excited with your new gun, and no ammo ... kinda like the LCP folks went thru for awhile.

I have a GP100 that I like alot. Had the SP101 too but like the GP enough that I unloaded the SP. It is accurate and pleasant to shoot. I make no claim to being much of a handgun shot, but at 20 yards I was putting all of my shots in a 3.5 inch bull offhand. The action is smoother than my SP was too. Recoil is not an issue if you have fired any of the other centerfire magnums (other than 32 H&R). Ammo is not an issue in my area other than cost. I work part-time in a gun shop that bought 4 cases of the 85 gr stuff & another shop in my area has the American Eagle 100 gr & a box or 2 of the Gold Dot 115's.

I have the GP 100 .327, I think it is a keeper.

They said they had quite a bit of ammo in stock for it.

I'd like to see the LCR in .327, think it would be a great carry piece, maybe Ruger could squeeze in 6 rounds.

LCR couldn't handle the 45,000 psi and the recoil would be off the page.

I fired the Speer 115 grain GDHP ammo from an SP101 in 327 mag and the felt recoil was so light, at least to me. That load is supposed to be sizzlin along at 1500 fps, right?

To me the recoil of the 327 Federal in an SP101 is less than shooting 38 Special +P 158 grain LSWCHP in an all steel S&W model 640.

IMO, the 327 Federal is a better choice in a j-frame sized gun than the 38 Special... and it rides hard on the heels of a 357 mag in a snubby at considerably less muzzle blast and recoil.
