I have this OM 41 mag. Took base pin and cylinder out to clean. Put cylinder back in, rotates fine, but cannot get base pin back in all the way. And whe trying to push further in to lock...locked up cylinder as well. Had to take the grip frame off, remove hammer to get to back of base pin to punch out. Have never had this happen on any of my Rugers, OM's or NM's. With cylinder out, base pin will go all the way in. With cylinder out action functions as it should. What the h???

yessir, only takes a few degrees of tilt to cause it to "jam, bind, lock up,whatever..." that s why it should ONLY slide in smoothly, if it starts to bind, STOP and do not force it any further, back up and start over......yes, it happens to the 'best' of us  8)
little trick we do is rotate the cylinder back ONE click, then push the pin in...this way we KNOW the 'pawl' is not causing any bind (pinching) at the ratchet area..............

sliker than snot

Snot is not a good lube, it tends to dry, get crusty/flakey, falls off and binds thigs up. Best to wipe it under the couch and use something better

Rotate the cylinder when you install the base pin. Keep clean and lubricated. 8) 8)
