Ok I have a Winchester 94 45 Colt Trapper 16in barrel with saddle ring and tang safety. I've bought it new 2003 and has never been shot not a mark on it . Pretty much been a safe queen, well today I spotted a Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter 45 Colt LNIB he was asking $850.00 for it . Person said they would do a trade
My question is would you do it?
Any help or advice would be appreciated Also forgot to mention already have a Super Blackhawk Hunter in 44 Mag

Nope, Keep the Winchester. That price is high to me. If you can not afford the Ruger and want the Blackhawk then make the trade. But if you can I would keep the Winchester.

No! Keep the Winchester... worth more than 850 and that is also high for the BH Hunter.

Can you afford both guns? Can you live without the Winchester? Do you want the Ruger more than you want the Winchester? Those are the only questions I'd be asking myself.

$850 is high for a Ruger Blackhawk.

Your Winchester is worth more than $850

I'd keep the Winchester.

Now if he added an additional gun to the trade, depending on what it is, that's a different story. I'd still probably keep that Winchester, because of it's configuration.

Thanks yall
After doing some research
1- that is high for a SB Hunter 45
2- Winchester is worth more
3- Although I love Ruger SBHs have 3 in 44mag would rather keep rifle and save up and find a better priced SBH even though they are getting harder to come by but I can live with out one for now
Thanks for all the advice

I will differ here from the norm. The Winchester , probably has the rebounding hammer system (very muched unliked by those who own them)and parts to convert to old style are getting to be impossible to find.
Ruger Hunters in .45 Colt are very hard to find also. So. Even though others think your Winchester is worth WAY more than the Ruger, it depends on what YOU would rather own. Me, I would make the trade. If he is instigating the trade, maybe you can get him to add a little cash to boot ?

Hi,
I agree with Chuck; the newly made rebounding hammer '94 in a pistol caliber trapper model only holds around 9 rounds and has a very long lever throw (it was initially designed for much longer cartridges). As a shooter one can do much better with a '92, which has a shorter throw and is smoother (it was designed for pistol caliber rounds), and will hold 10 rounds. I speak from experience, having owned and shot both models in pistol calibers. (Cowboy Action Shooters tend to avoid the '94. ) (I've also read the action of the '94 isn't quite as robust as the '92 with its twin locking lugs; I'll leave that debate up to others, though.)
I see you bought it and never shot it (it's a safe queen), so I assume it was a collectors piece to you and I assume you're not emotionally attached to it. If that blackhawk is something you really want, and want to shoot, I say make the deal!

No on the trade. If you want to sell the rifle for funds, that's up to you but the trade is seriously one-sided against you.
